Case 1: I want to plan a training course for a group of employees at two different locations
Example: I need to plan a mandatory 5-day training course for my CSE members. Our company is spread over two sites, and the training organization is offering to run one session at the Paris site (for 8 employees) and another at the Nantes site (for 10 employees). The total cost of this session is €10,000 excluding VAT.
Our recommendation: Create two sessions in your plan with the following information:
- Session 1:
- Location: Paris
- Number of participants: 8 people
- Fixed cost of the session: €5,000 excl. tax (€10,000 divided by 2)
- Session 2:
- Location: Nantes
- Number of participants: 10 people
- Fixed cost of the session: €5,000 excl. tax (€10,000 divided by 2)
Advantages of this solution:
Each participant will receive an email once they have registered for the session, with all the relevant information, including dates and location
Solution not recommended:
Create a single session (Why? Sessions will not necessarily take place on the same dates in both cities, and it is only possible to enter one location per session.)
Case 2: I would like to schedule a training course with non-consecutive days
Example: I need to plan a mandatory 5-day training course (35 hours) for the 10 members of my CSE. The organization is suggesting that I divide the training as follows:
- 3 days from January 1 to 3
- 2 days from March 1st to 2nd
Our recommendation: Create a single session in your plan with the following information:
- Number of participants: 10 people
- Session start date: January 1
- Session end date: March 2
- Duration: 35 hours
Advantages of this solution:
Employees find a single request in their interface (a single training course completed).
Solution not recommended:
Create two training sessions: one of 3 days and one of 2 days (Why? Employees will see 2 requests in their interface for the same training course)
Case 3: I have to deal with the first two cases for the same training course
Example: My organization is suggesting that I divide the training into 3 days/2 days for the two sites as follows:
- 3 days from January 1 to 3 for Paris employees
- 3 days from February 1 to 3 for Nantes employees
- 2 days from March 1 to 2 for Paris employees
- 2 days from April 1 to 2 for Nantes employees
Our recommendation: Create two sessions in your plan with the following information:
- Session 1:
- Location: Paris
- Number of participants: 8 people
- Start date: January 1
- End date: March 2
- Duration: 35 hours
- Session 2:
- Location: Nantes
- Number of participants: 10 people
- Start date: February 1
- End date: April 2
- Duration: 35 hours
Advantages of this solution:
Employees find a single request in their interface (a single training course completed).
Solution not recommended:
Create 4 training sessions: one 3 days and one 2 days for Paris, then the same for Nantes (Why? Employees at each site will see 2 requests in their interface for the same training course)
