Why define an occupation category

Before starting

The Lucca environment is based on a general model of your organization

Each concept of the cogwheel allows you to administer your different HR management policies or customize reports and exception rules.

Some are strictly mandatory (establishment, department).

The others are strongly recommended to simplify the use of each of our solutions.

We focus here on occupation categories.

In Timmi Absences

The occupation categories allow you to filter your populations with a similar classification:

  • For one-time collective adjustments (Credit/debit or Schedule management)

Example: I want to credit my Manager population with an additional rest day because a public holiday falls on a day off.

  • For recurring accruals (paid leave, comp days, seniority, extra days for splitting paid leave, etc.)

Example: My Manager population is on a package per day, my Non-manager population is on an accrual of fixed comp days + hours

These structural differences can be reported and matched in the absence export settings

Example: I export the absences of my Manager population in days, I export the absences of my Non-Manager population in equivalent hours

More generally, when you want to create and generate reports in Timmi Absences, the occupation category filter is used to display and focus on the results of your search without having to re-process the data.

Example: I want to generate an absenteeism report on my ETAM (clerical, technical and supervisory staff) population

In Timmi Timesheet

Timmi Timesheet does not natively refer to occupation categories. The settings core is based on regulations linked to work cycles

On the other hand, we have noted that there is a strong connection between occupation categories and work cycles.

Cycles in hours are often linked to a Non-manager population, and cycles in days are often linked to a Manager population.

In Poplee

Whether you use Poplee Core HR, Poplee Performance or Pagga Compensation, the occupation categories will help you target your populations more effectively, and generate very specific assessments and reports according to your needs:

  • Targeting the benefits or obligations imposed by a convention or collective agreement.
  • Study of employee pay and the allocation of bonuses,
  • or even the notice period that they will have to respect for a resignation or dismissal,

... all of these elements govern the working relationship between the employee and their employer.
