Before starting
This help sheet explains the difference between reports and exports for time tracking submitted per activity.
Reports are for "customized" time tracking submitted per activity
Lucca Timesheet enables you to enter the time spent on your activities, including:
- research projects (e.g. Research Tax Credits (CIR), and EU projects) to facilitate the calculation of staff expenses and justify them in the case of an audit;
-
cost centers, services or projects (e.g. marketing, client training, quality audit, etc.) for:
- invoicing your consultants' tasks correctly if your activity requires it;
- identifying what your employees are working on, whether in order to optimize processes, anticipate training and recruitment needs, or even improve the company's performance.
For these scenarios, we recommend that you create an activity report. You can customize the content of the report based on your needs:
- add and arrange columns,
- use filters to view only the data that interests you,
- record and share report templates to facilitate regular time tracking for the activities.

Exports are for carrying out more reliable accounting monitoring
If the time spent on your activities has to be integrated into your accounting, or if you need to re-invoice it to clients or partners, then the software for exporting activities to a third-party is required.
Lucca Timesheet can generate accounting entry files with the time accounted for as having been spent on the activities.
While it's not possible to edit the file structure in the way you can with the Reports module, exporting does let you:
- convert durations into days,
- generate a file for each establishment,
- highlight adjustments and late entries since the last export.
