Compensation types are configurable: You can create as many types as you need for the structure and management of the compensation types used in your organization.
To do this, go to Compensation > Settings > Remuneration types. (This interface is available for all new clients from March 24, 2025, and will be more widely available as of April 2025.)
Click on the "Create a type" button and complete the different settings.
General information
- Name of remuneration: This is the heading the for the compensation type to be created, e.g. "Basic salary". This field is required and unique: You cannot create two types with the same heading.
- Remuneration category: Each type must be linked to a category. This categorization makes it possible to distinguish between fixed remuneration, variable remuneration, and deposits. If there are no categories matching the compensation you're creating, you can select "other variable".
- Affected establishments: Select one or more establishments for which employees may receive this type of compensation.
- Type included in the contractual package: This setting lets you indicate whether compensations linked to this type should be included in the (contractual) theoretical pay calculation. This is generally the case for the basic salary, to which certain fixed bonuses may be linked, whether they're conventional or related to the employee's job.
- Type included in the contractual package: This setting lets you indicate whether compensations linked to this type should be included in the calculation of the total compensation paid, i.e. the sum of fixed remuneration items + any variable amounts paid over the period.
Remuneration type
Is the value for this type indicated in terms of an amount of currency (e.g. a bonus of 500 euros), or by a quantity (e.g. 3.5, for the type "Number of on-call hours")?
When selecting the "Amount" type, please also specify whether the amount in question is fixed or proportional to working time. For a fixed amount, it will not be recalculated as full time for part-time employees on screens where the "reconstituted full time" display option is available.
Valuation periodicity
Depending on the selected type category (fixed or variable), you can define whether the compensation is paid automatically every month, or whether it should be subject to manual entry to be taken into account for the payment period.
Additional options
- Description: You can link a description or definition to the type's heading to add further details on the use of this type for managers and employees
- Payroll code: This lets you indicate the code corresponding to the payroll section that will be used for the end-of-month export.
