Migration of Lucca FTP server - 2nd quarter 2024

Before starting

We are delighted to announce that Lucca is modernizing its FTP server infrastructure with a view to improving the quality and reliability of our services.

To use this help sheet properly, make sure you have access to the tool for connecting to the Lucca FTP and your login details:

• Login
• Password
• Protocol used (SFTP or FTPS/FTPES)

Introduction

This sheet has been specially designed to help you with the transition to our new FTP server. If you are currently using one of the FTP servers hosted by Lucca (ftp.lucca.fr or ftp-preview.lucca.fr), please follow the instructions below for migration to our new servers: 

• ftp.lucca.fr becomes ftp.eu1.luccasoftware.com.
• ftp-preview.lucca.fr becomes ftp.playground.eu1.luccasoftware.com

Preliminary step: Verification of login details

Before changing your FTP configuration, you need to make sure that your new login details (username and password) are valid on the new server.

We recommend using an FTP client such as WinSCP for this verification. The next steps are as follows:

1. Protocol selection

Identify the transfer protocol you are using in your external tool: either FTPS/FTPES or SFTP. This information is required to configure your FTP client correctly.

2. Configuration according to the protocol

Example for FTPS:

Open your FTP client and configure it to log in to the new server (ftp.eu1.luccasoftware.com or ftp.playground.eu1.luccasoftware.com) using the same FTPS protocol. 

Example for SFTP:

You need to accept the new key (also on your tool for connecting to the Lucca FTP)

2a. The new SSH public keys

Possible imprints for the keys when using the SFTP are: 

• ED25519 (as in the screenshots): Ddex0NLLm4ifi7pZK8h3gkN1EVcEq3LuYZTwVottyno
• RSA 4096: /3DU3oMgUegTTsFk3CM/YXMD4Qyj+B/aj35OwtoVP08=

3. Login test

Once you have completed the configuration, try to log in to make sure everything is working as it should, then try to send a file or create a folder on the FTP. This confirms that your login details are compatible with the new server.

Sending a file via WinSCP:

Updating your login tool

After successfully confirming your log in via the FTP client, update the settings of the tool you use to log in to Lucca to direct to the new server (ftp.eu1.luccasoftware.com instead of ftp.lucca.fr or ftp.playground.eu1.luccasoftware.com instead of ftp-preview.lucca.fr).

Your username and password remain unchanged and are identical to the login details used during the previous verification.
